Ohana Ukuleles have surprisingly, high quality and good looks for an affordable price! Sound-wise, we feel that they compare with or are better than many upper-end ukes selling for over $700. The first time we tried an Ohana concert uke (a beautiful CK-50), we guessed at a price of around $800, but were amazed when we found out the price was in the $300 range. The sound was rich and full-spectrum (not high end shallow like many other, more expensive ukes), and the tone was clear as a bell. This model is now one of our personal favourites.
The Ohana soprano ukes likewise, will surprise you with the full spectrum sound - not the tinny and shallow sound so many other soprano brands have. When you play and hold a note or chord, the sound continues to ring on and not drop off quickly like a lot of other uke brands. There obviously was some clever thought put into the design of these instruments. The sound of Ohana sopranos definitely compares with very high-end ukes on the market and yet are in the affordable $200 range.
The Ohana tenor ukes, likewise, have a combination of the above virtues.
